What is the Advocates Programme?

The Advocates Programme allows organisations supporting people with particular needs to accredit toilets that meet their specific requirements. Accredited toilets display a numbered marker on the map and show your organisation's logo and accreditation details in the toilet information panel.

Who we welcome as Advocates

Any organisation that shares our mission to make toilets accessible, safe, and welcoming for everyone is invited to join. Examples include:

  • Bowel health charities supporting people with bowel cancer, IBS, and related conditions
  • Mental health organisations helping those living with toilet anxiety, phobias, or related challenges
  • Parenting groups advocating for families with toddlers and young children
  • Disability organisations promoting accessibility and inclusive facilities
  • Medical charities focused on continence, mobility, and other health-related needs
  • Local community groups working to improve facilities and standards in their area

If your group is committed to improving toilet access, we’d love to welcome you as an Advocate.

The Accreditation Scheme

How the Accreditation System Works

When an advocate organisation accredits a toilet, it creates a powerful system of trust and recognition:

1
Define Requirements
Your organisation sets specific criteria that toilets must meet to receive your accreditation. This could include accessibility features, cleanliness standards, privacy measures, or specialised facilities.
2
Accredit Toilets
When a toilet meets your requirements, you can accredit it through our system. This creates a formal recognition of the facility's suitability for your community.
3
Visual Recognition
Accredited toilets display a numbered marker on the map (the number indicates how many accreditations the toilet has received). When users click on an accredited toilet, your organisation's logo appears in the toilet panel alongside details about your accreditation.
4
Help Users Find Trusted Facilities
People with specific needs can easily identify toilets that have been verified by organisations they trust. Your accreditation provides peace of mind and helps users make informed decisions about which facilities to use.

Each advocate organisation gets a dedicated profile page that showcases your mission and accreditation programme:

  • Contact Information - Provide ways for people to reach your organisation
